NUCLEAR CRITICALITY SAFETY THEORY AND PRACTICE (NE 4499 / 5599)
This course has three main topics; study of historical nuclear criticality accidents, understanding of the regulatory basis associated with nuclear criticality safety, and development of the physics associated with nuclear criticality safety. Â Students will become familiar with handbooks and benchmark critical experiments. Â This class will allow the students to take a hands on approach to criticality. Â Extensive use of the SCALE software package is included. Â NE 4499 / 5599 conforms to ANS 8.26.
