In September of 2014, Dr. Pope was awarded a three-year $400,000 grant from the U.S. Department of Energy to prepare an Experimental Breeder Reactor II reactor physics benchmark evaluation. The project developed a reactor physics benchmark evaluation of the Experimental Breeder Reactor II (EBR-II) suitable for inclusion in the International Reactor Physics Experiment Evaluation Project (IRPhEP) handbook

Dr. Pope performed graduate research in the area of neutron computed tomography. Specifically investigating the potential use of neutron computed tomography for the inspection of spent nuclear fuel assemblies.

STOCHASTIC MODELING OF RADIOACTIVE MATERIAL RELEASES

SODA

Working in collaboration with INL (Jason Andrus), a software application called SODA (Stochastic Objective Decision Aide) has been developed to allow decision makers to better understand the risks of certain hypothetical nuclear facility accidents.
